Emergency Lighting, Inspection, Testing and Certification.
British Standard BS 5266: Part 8, 2004 (BS EN 50172: 2004) –Emergency Lighting Systems
Emergency lighting is required to be fully tested every year.
Testing:-
- Battery capacity.
- Charging system.
- Lamps maintained and in working order.
- Log book maintained and up to date, if not, new log book issued.
- Lumen level output measured and recorded.
Test Results
Having carried out testing, the results are presented in a high quality report which includes the following documentation: -
- Asset Register (inventory of all items tested, together with locations)
- Test Data (results of tests carried out on all luminaires)
- Instructions to client regarding detailing interim testing requirements and method of achieving this.
- Log Book (document for client to record all interim routine tests and any remedial actions required and subsequently taken)
